On Your Side 03:30
“I’m on your side Is it ‘cause my love is blind?”

Theory For Everything (free) 04:20
I used to believe in a theory for everything That everything was somehow connected to everything (to ev’rything) I used to hold to a theory for everything Everyone’s gotta be made for something And someone And someone But now I can’t see the meaning Is all that data just an analog for dreaming? A man wakes up to find himself As dead as his memory He can’t remember what he’s been dismembered from (He’s attached to no one) I used to believe in theories and meanings Long words, mathematics and teachings To tell you the truth, it all sounds so empty Don’t leave me hanging In the train wreck of my feelings Why does this love give you so much meaning? Don’t leave me hanging...

Seasons can twist us so strange The winds decide more than we think Addictions are strong And desires won’t die Is it selfishness pushing us to the brink? What can you do, What can you say From a distance? On and on it goes On and on it goes On and on it goes On and on it goes I keep touching you from a distance I keep touching you always like this Tensions ride high and fears seem so clear I know I keep running away but I want you here What can you do? What can you say? What can you do? What can you say? I keep touching you from a distance I keep touching you always like this On and on it goes [What can you do?] On and on it goes [What can you say?] On and on it goes [What can you do?] [What can you do? What can you say from a distance?]

We blur into one Two hearts undone We, we have no one And I can’t hear you anymore Our language is not the same There’s nothing to fight There’s no demon to blame There’s no one to blame Snow falls in low light Can you see this tonight? ‘Cause I can’t hear you anymore Our words don’t mean the same The passage of time, distance, and light The scales of wrong and right There’s no one left to blame Don’t leave me in this space All this wasted space... You call my name.., Do you know my name? Do you know my name? Dreaming... So much wasted space...

Breakdown 04:52
I hit the road now full speed running My mind’s afire burning on nothing [2x] All I want to do is Break down break down break down All I want to do is Break down The film score is playing a slow motion symphony The light is flashing, catching, printing a memory [2x] I want to turn away and Break down I want to turn away and Break down O how beautiful To step all over The rubble of used and outdated love To turn to the city and its blazing walls To break down break down break down Into a pillar of salt I just want to break down I just want to break down Tear it up and break it all down again! Tear it up and break it all down again! Tear it up! Tear it up!

I caught you looking away You’ve got a ghost you can’t escape Haunts all your freedoms Lives in your pain Hope is the hardest thing to break You believe in fear, not faith You believe in the power of hate You don’t have to live this way No, you don’t have to live this way There’s no point in being ashamed The loneliest places are inside Your harshest rivals are love and pride You don’t have to live this way No, you don’t have to live this way You don’t have to live this way No, you don’t have to be ashamed You don’t have to live this way

Please Wait 05:28
Wait, please wait Don’t start without me We promised so much So much to risk that we can’t keep Wait Please wait for me Our love is fragile Can’t you see? Promises made Things that we can’t see Love, this love A never ending mystery I don’t know how to add it all up I don’t know when When I should give up I don’t know where we’re heading to I don’t know the future And neither do you And neither do you If you believe Then wait for me Please wait for me Please wait for me
9.
It’s all around you You just can’t believe it You ought to take more time; If you could receive it It’s all around you You should see it’s not your fault; It’s easier to wait for breakdowns, But lift your head now ‘Cause it’s all around you It’s all around you Yes, it’s all around you From before time began And after we’re gone It’s all around you And it’s all around you And it’s all around you It’s all around you...

about

This album was one of the first albums that didn’t really start with a concept, because I just wanted it to organically come together on its own. I did, however, want to fulfill a wish I had about the mood of the album. My mother, who is living in Canada, would often tell me that she listened to my music while sitting at the couch, and as she listened, she would look out of the picture window overlooking their vast farm field. I was hoping this album could somehow provide a soundtrack to those cloudy but serene Vancouver skies (and incidentally, that’s what I chose as the photo subject for the single cover to “All Around You”). Somehow, I wanted this album to be my connection to home while I was living far away from family.

As I continued to work on this album, many of the themes and feelings that emerged seemed to relate to the different kinds of divides in our lives and our longing to resolve those distances. Our lives can be disconnected from those around us in so many ways, and even from the ones that we love the most. I hope that these songs can somehow help you find the hope needed to resolve those divides.
