Is there something that I’m supposed to think? Is there something that I’m supposed to drink? Is there a path I ought to walk? Is there a map I forgot to chart? Oh, you know, you know I’ve heard it all before, heard it all before Oh, you know, you know She’s knocking on your door Knocking on your door The answers will keep on repeat The lovers never truly will meet Your conscience making puddles at your feet I wish I could call it the way you see Oh you know, you know I’ve heard it all before, heard it all before Oh you know, you know She’s knocking at your door Knocking at your door The way you see Oh am I supposed to think? Oh am I supposed to drink? She’s knocking on your door.

We’re finding comfort at the core Used to want a lot but now no more Youthful ambitions deep within to find meaning Panic faces of the curious Solitude emerge victorious Reignites confidences in what seems fleeting Tried to kick the habit but man It’s impossible to ignore it Try to tip the balance man But it’s impossible to ignore When the constant searching The almost yearning In the end that adds up to nothing You get carried away Carried away Carried away Carried away Till it’s making you crazy Tried to kick the habit but man It’s impossible to ignore it You get carried away Carried away Carried away Carried away Till it’s making you crazy Carried away with the passion and the fire Let it go but it just multiplies Carried away with beliefs that they all conspire To form plans with new lies Carried away with the callings and the fights Hold to the hopes that they multiply Carried away and believe that you’re in the right That’s how we’re still getting by

All of my life I lay out on the floor God where are you now? I don't know anymore   I feel the trouble Coming through the wind It's time to decide Where I end and you begin   I can't hear you I can't hear you   You said step inside But all I saw were four walls Don't have the words But there you are   All the grabbing and screaming The fire in my veins You were talking so fast Nothing's ever gonna sound the same

There’s a science to living this way A math that adds and taketh away You can give your heart And watch what gives back to you I have a love and it’s driving away Cheap as gas and keeps asking to pay You can do what you love But it won’t love you back You can do what you love But it won’t love you back You love the city but the city doesn’t love you You love the city but the city doesn’t love you You love the city but the city doesn’t love you I have a love that’s driving away Cheap as gas and keeps asking to pay You can do what you love But it won’t love you back

Contact flamed into burns Confused and eager to please The prodigal had returned A stranger fraught with disease Still can’t figure it out And you still have your doubts There’s no more need to shout “Go away, go away from me.” Open wounds in open air Passersby wouldn't breathe Heightened senses felt each stare As he turned away to leave Stoic in his ways Knew he could not stay There’s no more need to say “Go away, go away from me.” Tried his best to conceal An uninspiring fate Sicknesses have revealed That it’s already too late Still can’t figure it out No I’m not one to doubt There’s no more need to shout “Go away, go away from me.” Agents carrying pain That spread throughout our veins Soaked in fear and shame “Get away, get away from me.” “Get away, get away from me.” “Get away, get away from me.” “Get away, get away from me.”

No More Veil 03:44
I don't have much time now But I have this song Hold tight to what you love Before it's all gone   I've searched for so many words Through so many songs before I hid them in such poetry It's hard to talk for sure   I need this now to sing so clear With no more veil   No more veil No more veil   There are seasons lost but I can end this well Drink deep from this fount This never ending well   It's filled with so many words And through so many songs before It was sung before you were born And sung when they shut the door   I need this song to ring so clear right now Free it once more   With no more veil No more veil   I don't have much time now But I have this song Remember what you have when These nights get so long

about

This album was recorded roughly in parallel to the recording of "Lost/Found". "Lost/Found" was very heavy in shoegaze electronics and I was also doing a lot of soundtrack ambient score work as well during this time. Working on Asaph was my way of escaping all of that kind of song and find respite in a different sound palette. I've always loved the acoustic guitar and the post-grunge sound of indie folk music so I wanted to explore that more with this recording.
